Antony has revealed that he was convinced he would enjoy life at Real Betis before completing his loan move from Manchester United.
The Brazilian winger has quickly made an impression in Spain since joining the club, producing a series of strong performances and earning consecutive Man of the Match awards.
Antony was again on target on Thursday night as Betis secured an impressive 3-0 away victory over Gent in the first leg of their Europa Conference League playoff. The result puts the Spanish side in a commanding position ahead of the return leg.
Cedric Bakambu and Sergi Altimira were also on the scoresheet as Betis produced a dominant display to take control of the tie.
For Antony, the goal was another positive moment in what has been an encouraging start to his time at the club. However, the Manchester United loanee insisted that the team’s success was more important to him than his individual contribution.
I’m very happy, more for the game than for the goal. The most important thing is that we won,
Antony said.

The 24-year-old also highlighted the importance of the support he has received from the Betis fans since his arrival, saying their backing has helped create a positive atmosphere around the team.
Antony added that his decision to move to Betis was influenced by his belief that the environment would allow him to rediscover his happiness and confidence on the pitch.
The winger will now hope to maintain his impressive form as Betis continue their campaign in Europe and La Liga.
