Antony was sent off for a tackle on Juan Iglesias that referee Alberola Rojas deemed excessive. However, replays showed minimal contact, leading Betis to challenge the decision. Softfootball reports that the appeal was successful, removing the one-match ban that would have sidelined him for the high-profile fixture at the Estadio Benito Villamarin.
The 25-year-old has revitalized his career since leaving Old Trafford in January. Under Manuel Pellegrini, he has recorded three goals and two assists in six LaLiga appearances.
His availability is a significant boost for Betis as they prepare to host Carlo Ancelotti’s side, who are currently level with Barcelona at the top of the table. Antony will now look to continue his strong form against one of Spain’s biggest clubs.
