Real Madrid manager Carlo Ancelotti has expressed confidence that Vinicius Junior will be crowned the 2024 Ballon d’Or winner.

The Italian tactician made his feelings known ahead of Saturday night’s El Clasico against Barcelona, insisting the Brazilian winger has done enough over the past year to claim football’s most prestigious individual prize. Softfootball understands that Ancelotti believes there is no stronger contender for the coveted award.

Speaking ahead of the clash at the Santiago Bernabeu, the veteran coach left no room for doubt about Vinicius’ chances.

We can say that Vini will be the next Ballon d’Or, without a doubt. Vinicius will win the Ballon d’Or, it’s very clear to me and no one else will be able to win it,

Ancelotti said.

The Real Madrid boss also praised the 24-year-old’s character, highlighting his humility and remarkable development since arriving at the club.

Ancelotti described Vinicius as one of the world’s finest players, adding that his professionalism and attitude have remained unchanged despite becoming a global superstar.

He is one of the best players in the world. He is a very humble guy who has made enormous progress as a footballer while maintaining the same seriousness and humility from the day I first met him,

he added.

Vinicius played a key role in Real Madrid’s successful campaign last season, helping the Spanish giants win both La Liga and the UEFA Champions League, achievements that have strengthened his Ballon d’Or credentials.
