Injury setbacks have unfortunately been a recurring theme in his career. A fractured clavicle in 2019 marked his first major setback, followed by repeated muscular and knee-related problems in recent seasons. This latest ACL rupture prematurely ends what had already been a challenging period for the defender.

Meanwhile in England, the Premier League has condemned a surge in online racist abuse targeting players this week. The most recent case involved Romaine Mundle of Sunderland A.F.C., who was subjected to racist messages following a 3–1 defeat to Fulham F.C..

In Germany, Lennart Karl has officially signed a new contract with FC Bayern Munich valid until June 2029, with transfer expert Fabrizio Romano confirming that the extension was always part of the club’s long-term plan.
