Algeria have made history by qualifying for the 2027 FIFA Women’s World Cup in Brazil for the first time ever.
The landmark achievement came after Algeria fought back from a goal down to defeat 10‑player Côte d’Ivoire 2–1, a result that secured their place in the semi‑finals of the 2026 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON).

This means Algeria have not only reached the WAFCON semi‑finals for the first time in their history, but have also booked their ticket to their first‑ever Women’s World Cup.

Softfootball believes, Côte d’Ivoire, they let this one slip. Once they went down to 10 players, protecting their lead became a major challenge and Algeria took full advantage.
