Al Nassr Host Al Akhdoud as Title Charge Continues in Riyadh

3 Min Read

Softfootball understands that Al Nassr will host Al Akhdoud at Al-Awwal Park in Riyadh tomorrow. On paper, this one feels pretty uneven. Al Nassr are in good form this season, following their recent 5-1 victory against Al Zawraa and also defeating Al Wahdaa 4-2 in an entertaining friendly.

Al Nassr shared a video of their players training ahead of the game via their official X account.

Al Akhdoud are struggling, and the gap between the two sides has been clear all season.Al Nassr come into this fixture in scary form. Jorge Jesus’ side has won all nine of their league matches so far and sits comfortably at the top of the table.

The goal difference says it all: +25 already, and they don’t look like slowing down. Al Nassr rarely look shaky. They’ve conceded just five goals in the league, helped by long spells of possession and tidy passing through midfield.

For Al Akhdoud, it’s been a tough campaign. They’ve managed only one win in nine matches and are stuck near the bottom, fighting to stay afloat. A recent 1–1 draw with Al Shabab showed some fight. Goals are hard to come by, and defending hasn’t been much easier.

Team News

Al Nassr do have a few problems to manage. Sami Al-Najei remains sidelined, while Abdulmalik Al-Jaber and Angelo Gabriel are also out. Mohamed Simakan is nursing a hamstring injury and won’t return until late January, with Saad Haqawi still struggling physically.

Iñigo Martínez is another concern in defence, and Cristiano Ronaldo could feature if he’s deemed fit.

Al Akhdoud, meanwhile, report no confirmed absentees. Paulo Sérgio has a full squad available and will likely focus on staying compact, hoping to break when chances appear.

Possible Lineups

Al Nassr:
Bento; Al-Ghannam, Al-Amri, Salem, Al-Khaibari; Brozović, Al-Hassan; Mané, Joao Felix, Yahya; Ronaldo

Al Akhdoud:
Vítor; Al-Rubaie, Lowe, Khamis; Narey, Pedroza, Petros, Mohammed, Al Qaydhi; Bassogog, Musona

Softfootball’s Prediction

Everything points one way. Al Nassr dominate possession, create plenty of chances and rarely give much away. Al Akhdoud will need something special just to stay in the game. A comfortable home win looks likely.

Prediction: Al Nassr 4–0 Al Akhdoud
