Softfootball gathered the reactions of several African football legends as they spoke on the iconic 2026 WAFCON and the incredible rise of African women’s football, ahead of the final between Cameroon and Malawi.

The legends expressed joy at how far the women’s game has come from Malawi, who had never played at WAFCON before reaching the final, to Cameroon, who initially did not qualify but fought their way into the tournament and reached the last stage.
