Jerome Akor Adams made his first appearance for Sevilla as Garcia Pimienta’s side played out a 0-0 draw against Getafe at the Estadio Coliseum on Saturday.
The Nigerian striker, who recently completed his move from Ligue 1 side Montpellier, started the game on the bench before being introduced late in the encounter.
Softfootball reports that Adams replaced Suso in the 81st minute as Sevilla searched for a winning goal but ultimately had to settle for a point.
The 24-year-old will now look to build on his debut and compete for a regular place in Sevilla’s attack as the season progresses.
Adams was not the only Nigerian involved in the game, with compatriot Chidera Ejuke also making an appearance for the visitors.
Ejuke came on in the 71st minute, replacing Ruben Vargas, as Sevilla continued to push for a breakthrough.
The winger has now made 11 LaLiga appearances this season and has scored once.
Meanwhile, fellow Nigerian forward Kelechi Iheanacho remained an unused substitute for the former UEFA Europa League champions.
The result extended Sevilla’s unbeaten run in the league to four matches. Their previous longer unbeaten streak lasted five games between March 30 and May 5, 2024.
