It is official that AC Milan and their sporting director Igli Tare will part ways at the end of the 2025/26 season. Duo Softfootball cannot confirm the exact reason behind his departure at the moment, but it is increasingly evident that the club is preparing for a new era of leadership.

In April 2009, Tare completed the necessary course to receive his qualification as a sporting director, a role he notably held at Lazio until 5 June 2023. On 26 May 2025, he was appointed as the sporting director of AC Milan, tasked with helping shape the club’s sporting future.

Tare’s expected exit immediately raises questions over who will replace him in managing Milan’s football operations. With an important and potentially defining summer transfer window approaching, the club faces increasing pressure to establish stability and clarity within its leadership structure.
