According to Fabrizio Romano’s update on his official X handle, Klopp’s agent Marc Kosicke firmly dismissed the rumors, describing the reports connecting the German coach to the Spanish club as “stupid speculation.” The statement effectively ended recent talk suggesting that Atlético Madrid could attempt to bring Klopp back to management.

Klopp stepped away from Liverpool in 2024 after a successful nine-year tenure that included major trophies and a transformative era for the club. Following his departure, he accepted a strategic role with Red Bull GmbH as global head of soccer, overseeing the company’s expanding multi-club football projects.
