Brentford F.C. on their official X account, have issued a post-match update on left-back Rico Henry after he was forced off in the 21st minute of their March 3, 2026 Premier League draw against Bournemouth due to a hamstring strain.
As earlier reported by Softfootball, Head coach Keith Andrews recently signed a new six-year contract keeping him at Brentford until 2032.
Keith described Henry’s recent performances as “amazing.” He praised the defender’s resilience following his 2023 ACL tear, noting how he had rebuilt both physical strength and confidence.
Although the timing is frustrating, Andrews expressed optimism that the issue appears minor and may not result in extended absence.
According to Brentford FC:
Rico Henry update
“It’s a hamstring strain. “He’s been amazing. We got him back up to speed and he’s built that level of robustness. “His performances have been of such a high level. It was a shame we lost him so early in the game and hopefully it’s nothing too serious”

With Brentford’s next league fixture against Wolverhampton Wanderers nearly two weeks away, recovery timelines are encouraging.
Peer-reviewed research on mild hamstring strains suggests a typical return period of 8–14 days, potentially putting Henry in contention for the upcoming match.
Elsewhere, Manchester United F.C. interim manager Michael Carrick has confirmed the club’s interest in signing a left winger during the 2026 summer transfer window. The move aligns with United’s evolving recruitment strategy under INEOS ownership, with a renewed focus on strengthening wide areas to improve squad depth.
