Super Eagles defender Benjamin Fredrick has been promoted to Brentford’s first team today, Friday, 10 July 2026, following his rise through the club’s academy setup. The young centre‑back has now signed a new long‑term contract, marking a major step forward in his development.
Speaking after putting pen to paper, Fredrick expressed his excitement and outlined his ambitions for the future.
My aim is to make my debut with the first team, get Premier League minutes and give my best when I have the opportunity.

Softfootball understands that the promotion is a reward for his impressive progress and consistent performances since joining Brentford’s youth ranks. Fredrick officially arrived at the club on January 30, 2023, moving from Ivorian side ASEC Mimosas to initially play for Jong Genk before establishing himself in Brentford’s academy.
