Liverpool football club emerged as one of the biggest beneficiaries in the top-four battle this weekend after grinding out a 1–0 victory over Nottingham Forest. Softfootball gathered, with Chelsea dropping points in a 1–1 draw against Burnley, Liverpool knew a win was vital and they found a way.

To be honest, Forest were the better side in the first half. They created several clear chances but failed to convert. Callum Hudson-Odoi and other Forest forwards struggled in front of goal, wasting opportunities that could have punished the visitors.

The second half, however, was a different story. Liverpool came out with renewed intensity, clearly responding to the halftime message from manager Arne Slot. They pressed higher, moved the ball quicker, and showed greater urgency.

He later had another golden opportunity deep into stoppage time. The breakthrough eventually came through captain Virgil van Dijk, whose late header secured a massive three points.
