Manchester United have bottled the moment and with it, Frank Ilett’s long-awaited haircut. Softfootball gathered that the popular United fan, who launched his “no win, no hair trim” challenge on October 5, 2024, pledged not to cut his hair until Manchester United win five consecutive matches.

As of February 10, 2026, the challenge has stretched close to 500 days, leaving him with a large afro that has drawn comparisons to former United midfielder Marouane Fellaini.
United went into the clash against West Ham needing just one more victory to complete the five-game winning streak for the afro to be cut. However, a 1–1 draw at the London Stadium ended those hopes.

Tomáš Souček fired West Ham ahead in the 50th minute, putting pressure on Michael Carrick’s side. United pushed until the very end and eventually found a dramatic equaliser through Benjamin Šeško in the 90+6 minute. But it was not enough.
The result not only delayed Ilett’s planned haircut but also scattered what could have been a five-match EPL winning streak for United.
West Ham once again proved to be a difficult ground for the Red Devils. United have struggled at the London Stadium in recent seasons, failing to secure consistent victories there over the past 3–4 campaigns.
Now the big question remains:
Will Frank Ilett finally cut his hair, or will the challenge continue even longer?
For now, the afro stays.
