Transfer expert Fabrizio Romano revealed on his official X handle that Tottenham manager Thomas Frank has confirmed Cristian “Cuti” Romero was fined following his strong public comments, with the matter now managed internally. Frank has stressed on the importance of handling such situations in a right way.
Romano stated that:
Thomas Frank on Cuti Romero getting fined: “I can only confirm that we have dealt with everything internally”.
Romano earlier reported that Frank admitted Romero is “a very passionate person who leaves everything on the pitch,” adding that the Argentine defender wants to win every single game. He further agreed that such passion can sometimes lead to emotional outbursts, but insisted there is always a proper way to express frustration. While noting that he personally “wouldn’t have done it,” the Spurs boss also made it clear that Romero has generally been very good in how he conducts himself.

Sometime in January, Romero did not hold back after Tottenham’s 2-1 defeat to Brentford which marked their third loss in six matches, his public reaction after a Spurs defeat confirmed his displeasure in knowing that some people only show up when things are going well. This further indicates that he gets uncomfortable with match losses.

Both Separated only by goal difference and sitting just above the relegation zone, they are aware that one poor result could undo months of hard work in a tense survival battle.
