Softfootball can now confirm a major turnaround in the N’Golo Kanté transfer saga, with the French midfielder set to sign for Fenerbahçe after FIFA granted final approval for the move. Kanté has signed a contract that will keep him at the Turkish club until June 2028 following the termination of his deal with Al Ittihad.
The breakthrough comes after both Fenerbahçe and Al Ittihad received the green light from FIFA, resolving earlier documentation and official statement issues that had stalled the transfer. Transfer expert Fabrizio Romano confirmed the new development on his official X handle, noting that Kanté was fully committed to the move and only wanted Fenerbahçe.
He stated that:
BREAKING: N’Golo Kanté to Fenerbahçe, HERE WE GO! Contract signed until June 2028 after termination of the contract @ Al Ittihad. Fenerbahçe and Al Ittihad received the green light from FIFA after issues with documents and official statement. Kanté ONLY wanted Fener.

The deal had previously appeared off after problems with the Transfer Matching System (TMS) led to reports that the move was called off. During the same period, Youssef En-Nesyri’s proposed transfer to Al Ittihad collapsed after FIFA rejected appeals from both clubs. Unlike that case, Kanté’s situation was successfully revisited and approved, allowing the transfer to go through.
In other news, Arsenal booked their place at Wembley after a dramatic 1–0 win over Chelsea in the second leg of the Carabao Cup semi-final, sealing a 4–2 aggregate victory at the Emirates Stadium.
