Barcelona continued their impressive run in LaLiga with a 3–1 away victory over Elche at the Estadio Martínez Valero, moving four points clear at the top of the table.
The visitors started brightly and were rewarded early when teenage sensation Lamine Yamal opened the scoring in the sixth minute. The 18-year-old, scoring for the third game in a row, latched onto a clever through ball from Dani Olmo, rounded the goalkeeper and rolled the ball into an empty net.
Elche responded well and found an equaliser in the 29th minute through Alvaro Rodriguez, who slipped in behind the defence and finished calmly. Barcelona pushed again before the break and regained the lead when Ferran Torres smashed home from close range after a cutback by Frenkie de Jong.
Elche had chances to level in the second half, most notably when Adam Boayar wasted a golden opportunity. That miss proved costly. Moments later, substitute Marcus Rashford, who replaced Raphinha, sealed the win in the 72nd minute, finishing from close range after another brilliant piece of play from Yamal.
According to Softfootball, Rashford was visibly delighted after the match, celebrating what is reported to be his first trophy with Barcelona, a milestone moment in his early spell at the club.
The win extends Barcelona’s unbeaten run at the Martínez Valero and follows their midweek Champions League comeback victory over Copenhagen, which secured qualification for the last 16. With momentum firmly on their side, Barça continue to look like serious title contenders as they aim to maintain their lead over Real Madrid.
