Newcastle United winger, Anthony Gordon is relishing the big challenge of facing Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) in the UEFA Champions League Match-Day 8 on Wednesday, Softfootball reports.
The Magpies lost 2-0 against Aston Villa at Saint James’ Park and will hope to bounce back to winning ways when they visit PSG at the Parc des Princes. Both teams are fighting for the chance to qualify automatically for the round of 16 and currently have 13 points each.

Speaking before the team traveled to Paris, Gordon happily talked about the challenge of facing PSG in an interview shared via Newcastle United’s official X handle. He said:
You’re facing the European champions… you’re playing all the best players, the best managers, the travelling. It’s just the biggest and the best. I do love the Champions League – I think brings out extra in players. It’s the biggest competition in the world; for me, it’s the best. Every player grows up wanting to play in this competition so I’d be lying if I said it didn’t bring out some extra motivation or adrenaline. You’re facing the European champions, like we are tomorrow; you’re playing all the best players, the best managers, the travelling… it’s just the biggest and the best.

Famous television personalities, Ant and Dec claimed Newcastle winning the Carabao Cup was the happiest moment of their lives and repeating that in the UEFA Champions League will definitely be awesome but they are currently not among the favourites to win the competition.
Newcastle United are currently placed seventh on the UCL log with 13 points, same points as PSG but the French champions are in sixth due to a better goals difference.
