Softfootball understands that Manchester United winger Patrick Dorgu faces a lengthy spell on the sidelines after sustaining a hamstring injury during the club’s thrilling 3-2 victory over Arsenal on Sunday, as reported by Fabrizio Romano via his official X account.
He posted:
Patrick Dorgu will be out for 10 weeks after suffering hamstring injury.
Initially feared to be nothing more than cramp, scans later confirmed a hamstring tear, ruling the 21-year-old Denmark international out for around 10 weeks.

Dorgu had to be withdrawn in the 81st minute at the Emirates Stadium, limping off after chasing a long ball. Benjamin Sesko came on to replace him. Reports suggest the injury is serious enough to sideline him but does not require surgery.
The timing couldn’t be worse for United, as Dorgu is set to miss around eight league fixtures during a critical stretch of the season.
Under interim manager Michael Carrick, the young winger had been in scintillating form, netting three goals in his last five appearances, including a stunning strike in Manchester United’s 2-0 victory against Manchester City, and also scoring against Newcastle United and Arsenal.

His switch from left wing-back to a more advanced left winger role in a 4-2-3-1 formation has seen him flourish, turning him into one of United’s most dynamic attacking threats.
Dorgu’s versatility across the left flank, capable of playing as a full-back, wing-back, or wide midfielder, makes his absence particularly painful. Matheus Cunha is expected to step into the starting lineup during his recovery.
Having joined United from Lecce for £25 million in February 2025, Dorgu has made 44 appearances this season, scoring three goals and assisting three more in the Premier League.

Club insiders admit frustration at the setback, especially after he had finally silenced doubts over his consistency and confidence under former manager Ruben Amorim.
