He said this after being asked if he would still be in charge of the club next season. Transfer expert Fabrizio Romano echoed the manager’s words on his official X handle,

Pep Guardiola when asked if he’ll be Man City manager after this season: “I’m here! What is going to happen, who knows that?! Who knows?”. “But even if I had a 10-year contract, or I have six months, football changes a lot!”

Guardiola didn’t mention or talk about any plans to leave Manchester City but his words showed how unpredictable the football management could be. He is currently under contract with the club after signing a deal that runs until 2027.

Since he joined the club in 2016, he has enjoyed a great deal of success, FA Cups, League Cups and leading City to their historic UEFA Champions League triumph in 2023. His careful management has turned Manchester into the most dominant teams in football.

Mikel Obi in his recent podcast also acknowledged the great work he does during team selection but despite his success and constant praises from football lovers, Guardiola has sometimes spoken about the physical and mental demands of managing at the highest level.

He has also previously taken breaks from football and hasn’t cancelled out taking more breaks in future but his comments suggest that he remains fully focused on Manchester City and the current season.
