Former Manchester City manager Roberto Mancini has distanced himself from the legal issues surrounding the Premier League club, insisting that the matter does not concern him.
Mancini was asked about his involvement in the Manchester City case and made his position clear, saying, “It’s not something that concerns me.” He added, “It’s Manchester City’s problem, unfortunately. It’s not a problem that concerns me,” according to the Associated Press.
The Italian manager spent three years in charge of Manchester City between 2009 and 2013, guiding the club to its first Premier League title in 44 years during the 2011/12 season.
Mancini also led City to the FA Cup in 2011 and helped establish the foundation for the club’s dominance in English football.
The former Italy boss has now been linked with a return to the national team setup, with the latest development adding another chapter to his managerial career.
The situation comes as Mancini Agrees Return as Italy Head Coach, with the experienced coach reportedly set to take charge of the Azzurri once again.
Mancini previously managed Italy from 2018 to 2023 and delivered one of the country’s most significant recent international successes by guiding them to the European Championship title at Euro 2020.
His potential return would mark a major change for Italy as the national team looks to rebuild and compete at the highest level again.
For Mancini, the focus appears to be on his next challenge rather than the ongoing issues involving his former club. His comments suggest that he does not consider himself part of Manchester City’s current legal situation and wants to keep his attention on his own future.
The former City boss remains one of Italy’s most experienced coaches, having also managed Inter Milan, Lazio, Galatasaray and Zenit Saint Petersburg during a long career.
