Palace Push For Top Four As Fulham Lean On Craven Cottage Strength In Key London Derby

Crystal Palace make the short trip across the capital to face Fulham on Sunday afternoon, a matchup that always seems to carry a bit of tension even when the table says otherwise. The last time Fulham hosted a chaotic game here, SoftFootball covered the 9-goal thriller against Manchester City.

Palace know Craven Cottage well enough too. Their own form on the road was shaped by some setbacks earlier in the campaign, including the defeat against Manchester United that SoftFootball reported. Still, Oliver Glasner’s side sit fifth and remain one point behind Chelsea, so the pressure is very real.

Fulham sit fifteenth but have taken thirteen of their seventeen points at home. Marco Silva keeps reminding people that this ground can carry them through tough spells. Palace are much tighter defensively, though, and have already kept seven clean sheets.

Team News

Fulham remain without Antonee Robinson and Rodrigo Muniz. Samuel Chukwueze is pushing for a start after his brilliant impact against City, with four goal contributions in his last three appearances.

Palace are still missing Ismaila Sarr. Cheick Doucoure, Chadi Riad, Caleb Kporha and Rio Cardines are out as well. Glasner confirmed in the press conference shared on the club’s official X account that Borna Sosa could return to the squad, which gives the back line a small boost.

Fulham (4-2-3-1): Leno; Castagne, Andersen, Bassey, Sessegnon; Berge, King; Chukwueze, Smith Rowe, Iwobi; Jimenez.

Crystal Palace (3-4-2-1): Henderson; Guehi, Richards, Lacroix; Munoz, Wharton, Hughes, Mitchell; Devenny, Pino; Mateta.

SoftFootball’s Prediction

Fulham do their best work here, but Palace have not lost at Craven Cottage in almost twenty years. Glasner’s team look more controlled and better balanced right now. It might be tight, but Palace should edge it.

Prediction: Fulham 1-2 Crystal Palace
