Aaron Wan-Bissaka turns 28 today, and honestly, it’s wild to see how far he has come. From a young kid in Crystal Palace’s academy to a key figure at West Ham, he has grown to become one of the Premier League fans’ favourites.
Softfootball understands that West Ham United, who recently appointed Nuno Espírito Santo as their new head coach, saw him get his first win in a 3-1 victory over Newcastle, and the club took time to wish Wan-Bissaka a happy birthday via their official X account.

He’s known for his defensive mastery. Tackles, interceptions, running down the wing. Frank de Boer moved him to full-back in 2017. First-team chances weren’t easy. De Boer and later Hodgson had their favourites.
Wan-Bissaka kept pushing. Played for the U23s and made his senior debut in February 2018 vs Tottenham. By the end of the season, he was Crystal Palace Young Player of the Year.

Then came the big step: he joined Manchester United in 2019 for a fee of £50 million. He made his debut in a 4–0 win over Chelsea, scored his first career goal in 2020, and even played a part in that insane 9–0 win over Southampton. Injuries hit in 2022–23 and slowed him down. But after the World Cup break, he bounced back.
West Ham signed him in 2024, and he’s been an important figure for the team. Scoring in back-to-back games against Newcastle and Arsenal.

Leading defenders in interceptions. Top of the tackles chart. and also winning West Ham’s Hammer of the Year 2024–25. Started 36 out of 40 games. Two goals, four assists.
Wan Bissaka has always been regarded as one of the most consistent Premier League defenders.
