It was a brilliant night at Stamford Bridge for Chelsea fans as they watched Marc Cucurella dominate Barcelona superstar, Lamine Yamal in the UEFA Champions League Match-Day 5, Softfootball reports.

Chelsea comprehensively beat Barcelona 3-0 in one of the most anticipated matches of the week. France defender, Jules Kounde scored an own goal before it went from back to worse when Captain Ronald Araujo got sent off for a second booking just before half-time.

That inspired the home side to move up the gear with 18-year-old Brazilian wonderkid, Estevao Willian announcing himself to the biggest stage with a solo goal to hand Chelsea a 2-0 advantage before substitute Liam Delap made it 3-0 and ended an 11-game drought with his first goal of the season.

It was an unbelievable night for fans of Chelsea football club and that excitement was shared via the club’s official X handle. Chelsea posted:

In September, Marc Cucurella signed a new deal with Chelsea, showing his growing influence in the team and it was in nights like against Barcelona that players like him show their true value. He completely locked out Yamal, who had earlier boosted that Athletic Bilbao match was going to be tougher than against Chelsea.

A fan with the name @mduddinmohi11 after enjoying the game picked out Cucurella for special praise, he said:

Cucurella is criminally underrated. Every season he gets better, every highlight reel is insane, and yet Twitter acts like he’s a background character. The disrespect is unreal.

@hollyboysol added:

Cucurella hold Yamal
Yamal keep falling on pitch
No shot on target for Yamal
Yamal will never forget this match
You don’t dare call Chelsea a small team again
Chelsea is HOME

@Facilered was delighted by Chelsea’s general response to Lamine Yamal’s ego and happy with the win, he said:

Humbling night. Barca travelled all the way to Stamford Bridge, only to get packed with goals like visitors who came to collect something. Chelsea didn’t talk too much; they told the whole story on the pitch. Yamal talked, Chelsea cooked. Simple storyline. 💙💀

Exciting when a team pulls off a big win, especially against a strong opponent. Moments like these become memories that fans and players will cherish forever. Success on the field comes from effort, teamwork, and a little bit of luck.

The win takes Chelsea into sixth place on the UEFA Champions League table with 10 points after three wins, a draw and a loss while Barcelona dropped into the play-off spot in 15th with just seven points after five matches so far.
