Softfootball reports that Liverpool’s captain, Virgil van Dijk, didn’t try to dress anything up after the Reds’ 3–0 loss to Nottingham Forest at Anfield. He sounded tired, frustrated, and honest about where the club is right now, which is looking like it’s in a big crisis.
The defeat against Nottingham Forest pushed Liverpool into an awful run of six losses in seven league games, and you could even see some fans leaving early, which almost never happens there.
In the post-match interview, as revealed by Fabrizio Romano via his official X account, Van Dijk said the team is in a very difficult moment and that everybody, not just one or two players, has to take responsibility if they’re going to turn things around.

Fabrizio posted:
Van Dijk: We are in a very difficult moment. We have to get out of it. We all take responsibility. We concede too many easy goals.
They scored from a set piece again. But we were not good. In the battles, the second balls.
He complained again about the same defensive problems showing up, especially on set pieces. The opening goal came from one of those moments, and although he thought a Forest player might’ve blocked Alisson a bit, the referee didn’t see it that way. After that, Liverpool never really reacted properly.

He also pointed out that they were poor in physical duels and kept losing second balls, something that has been creeping into their performances lately. At times they looked rushed, almost nervous, especially after going behind. He admitted that this tension is building inside the squad and that it’s affecting how they play.
This echoes the words of the gaffer Arne Slot, who revealed that he takes responsibility for the poor results so far, and one thing is clear: for them to achieve stability, the whole team has to dig in and work very hard.
Well, let’s say the honeymoon is over for Arne Slot, and now he has to build his whole team as they begin to emerge from the ghost of Jurgen Klopp.
