Happy birthday Luís Carlos Almeida da Cunha popularly known as Nani as he turns 39 years old today, Softfootball reports.

A lot of fans see Nani as a more talented player than Cristiano Ronaldo his fellow Portuguese but he lacks the discipline of a top-level profession and has since retired from active football while Ronaldo is only planning to quit after the 2026 World Cup when he will be 41.

Nani these days works as an ambassador for Manchester United and the club took time to celebrate him via their official X handle. The post read:

Nani spent eight seasons with the Red Devils from 2007 to 2015, making 230 appearances and scoring 41 goals across all competitions. He joined Manchester United from Sporting Lisbon in July 2007 and enjoyed his biggest individual season when he led the assists chart in the 2010/11 Premier League campaign.

Nani was super successful at Manchester United, winning numerous domestic and international honors. He won four Premier League Titles, one UEFA Champions League, one FIFA Club World Cup, two League Cups and four FA Community Shields.

Nani was recently inducted into the Liga Portugal with the Hall of Fame and he shared the moment with his son and it was beautiful to see. He is loved in Portugal as well as in England especially at Manchester United where he had his most successful career.

Nani still follows the club keenly and witness their match just before the international break when Manchester United fought back to draw Tottenham 2-2 at the London Stadium in the premier league match-day 11.

Manchester United will return to action this weekend when they host Everton at Old Trafford as they seek to finish in a higher position this season after the 15th spot last term.
