Softfootball have gathered that, Alejandro Balde has made a timely return to Barcelona’s squad ahead of their highly anticipated Champions League clash with Paris Saint-Germain. The 21-year-old left-back has been sidelined since September, after suffering a hamstring injury, which kept him out for several weeks. Barcelona’s medical team handled his recovery with extra caution due to his history of muscular issues, and after resuming training with the team recently, he has now been given full medical clearance.

According to Fabrizio Romano via his official X handle, shared that Barcelona defender Balde has returned to the team and is set to play against PSG on Wednesday night. He wrote:
Alejandro Balde, back in Barça squad for the game against PSG after his injury.
While Balde is considered fully fit, his lack of match rhythm means coach Hansi Flick is expected to manage his playing time carefully as he eases back into competitive action.
During Balde’s absence, Flick was forced to rotate several players in the left-back role. Gerard Martin was the most regular stand-in, while Eric Garcia and Ronald Araujo also filled in when necessary. Even youngster Jofre Torrens was handed minutes, highlighting the shortage of natural options in that position. As a result, Barcelona were without the balance and attacking drive Balde typically provides down the flank, and his return brings back a key dimension to the team’s play. Although Barcelona were able to overcome rivals Real Sociedad on Sunday night, Balde’s position became very vulnerable due to the fullback’s absence.
His comeback could not have come at a better moment for Barcelona, who now face one of Europe’s most dangerous attacking sides in PSG.
