Mbappé Brace Fires Real Madrid Past Levante to Maintain Perfect La Liga Start

Real Madrid continued their flawless start to the 2025/26 La Liga season with a convincing 4-1 victory over Levante at the Estadio Ciudad de Valencia, stretching their winning run to six games. It marks only the second time since 1987/88 that Los Blancos have opened a league campaign with such consistency.

Kylian Mbappé was the hero last time out against Espanyol where he scored his seventh goal of the season and once again stole the headlines with a second-half brace, including a cheeky Panenka penalty and a cool finish after rounding goalkeeper Mathew Ryan. Vinícius Júnior and 18-year-old Franco Mastantuono were also on target, with the Argentine youngster netting his first senior goal for the club.

Levante briefly threatened a comeback early in the second half when Ivan Romero’s deflected effort fell kindly for Etta Eyong, who bundled home his fourth league goal of the season. But Real quickly killed any hopes of an upset. Mbappé converted from the spot after Unai Elgezabal’s reckless challenge, then sealed the win moments later by rounding Ryan to slot into an empty net.

The Frenchman has now scored seven goals in his first six league matches, underlining his blistering start in Spain. Vinícius nearly added a fifth in stoppage time with a delicate chip, but Madrid were already cruising to another three points.

The result strengthens Madrid’s grip on top spot and gives Xabi Alonso five wins from five league matches in charge. Levante, meanwhile, remain stuck in 16th, with just one victory from their last 10 home games against Real Madrid.
