Marcus Rashford has reiterated his transfer desire following his superb performance for Barcelona in their Champions League victory over Newcastle on Thursday night.
The forward’s rising to the occasion and producing spell binding moments of magic is something Manchester United fans didn’t see enough of during his final few months at Old Trafford
The 27-year-old England international emerged from the depths of his Old Trafford exile to fire the Spanish club to a 2-1 victory over Newcastle in front of national team Boss Thomas Tuchel at St James’ Park to underline his enduring quality as reported by Softfootball.
Discarded by United boss Ruben Amorim, loan signing Rashford scored with a fine header and a rasping long-range drive to settle a pulsating encounter which got Barca’s latest bid for a sixth European title off to a winning start.

Rashford had been knocking on the door since joining Barcelona from United during the summer transfer window. He registered his first goal contribution, an assist last weekend as the Spanish giants demolished Valencia 6-0. His double against Newcastle marked his first goals under Hansi Flick.
According to Fabrizio Romano via his X handle, Marcus Rashford has made his intentions clear as he looks to build on his recent momentum. The England international expressed his desire to remain at Barcelona beyond his current spell, stating:
Rashford on his future: I want to stay as long as possible at Barcelona. I have to focus on doing my job, helping the team in any way I can.
I can feel the confidence that Flick has given me. I knew he was great before I signed, but working with him is a real pleasure.
Given that Manchester United struggled in the final third last season, Rashford’s goals would have been a blessing and, let’s be clear, their goals aren’t exactly free flowing at the moment either. Amorim’s reluctance to move away from his preferred 3-4-3 formation has left United looking void of ideas at key moments this season.
The Portuguese head coach’s stubbornness to shift away from his style of play and indeed reluctance to build a rapport with Rashford could see United lose a star who still has so much to give.
Barca head coach Hansi Flick was generous in his praise of the Englishman before the game and even more so afterwards, and Rashford admitted his relationship with the German has been key to his return to form.
Both men will now turn their attention to Sunday’s LaLiga clash with Getafe and, beyond it, Champions Legaue holders Paris St Germain’s visit to the Catalan capital next month.
