It’s not just Jadon Sancho on Roma’s radar. The Italian side have also turned their attention to Manchester United left-back Tyrell Malacia, who could be on the move this summer.
Malacia joined Manchester United from Feyenoord in 2022, becoming Erik ten Hag’s first signing at the club. He showed a lot of promise in his debut season, but injuries and limited opportunities have slowed his progress since then.

Transfer insider Fabrizio Romano revealed on his official X handle:
“EXCL: AS Roma make contact for Tyrell Malacia as left-back option.
During talks with Man United for Sancho (no green light yet from Jadon), AS Roma also ask for Malacia deal conditions.
Tyrell, keen on the move; Besiktas also interested in the Dutch left back.”
Roma, under Daniele De Rossi, are reshaping their squad and see Malacia as a player who can bring energy and balance on the left. Talks are already underway with United for Sancho and Roma are still waiting for an answer; the Italians have asked about the 24-year-old defender on a permanent transfer.
For Malacia, a fresh start could be exactly what he needs, and Roma offers a chance to play more regularly at a high level.
Softfootball understands that it’s not only Roma who are keeping tabs on the player. Turkish giants Besiktas are also said to be interested, citing Malacia’s ability to play both as a left-back and wing-back, making him an attractive option.
For now, all eyes are on how talks develop with Roma. What’s certain is that Malacia is keen on a move, and with interest building in both Italy and Turkey, the Dutchman’s Old Trafford future looks increasingly uncertain
