Chelsea youngster Tyrique George could be on his way out of Stamford Bridge this summer, with RB Leipzig showing firm interest in the 19-year-old winger. Softfootball understands that the Bundesliga club reportedly asked about George during conversations with Chelsea over a separate potential transfer involving Xavi Simons.
While Simons remains the headline name in those negotiations, sources close to the situation say Leipzig are keen to explore a deal for George as well. However, both moves would be independent of each other, and one does not hinge on the other’s outcome.

Transfer expert Fabrizio Romano reported via his official X handle that even though the Germans are interested in Tyrique George, the negotiations don’t rub off each other, as both teams might independently negotiate for both players.
He tweeted saying:
“RB Leipzig have asked Chelsea about Tyrique George during club to club talks for Xavi Simons. Separate topic and not into same deal but George has attracted interest from Bundesliga and Leipzig are keen. He’s prepared to leave Chelsea due to limited space, as revealed.”
He also revealed that George has made his desire to leave Stamford Bridge open.
He said:
“Tyrique George wants to leave Chelsea this month with reduced game time… and Bundesliga clubs keen on signing him. Permanent move also possible; Chelsea prefer to keep George but accept his desire for regular football. RB Leipzig and Gladbach among clubs keen.”

George, who has impressed in youth levels but struggled for senior minutes, is understood to be open to leaving Chelsea in search of regular football. With Leipzig, Borussia Mönchengladbach, and a few unnamed Premier League sides monitoring the situation, and with every passing time his options appear to be growing.
It was already reported that the Blues are actively looking to close the deal of the Netherlands sensation; they are also looking to add Gernacho to the mix, and Leipzig can use that desire as bait to get their own transfer target.
Chelsea are reportedly pushing to secure the Dutchman, though a fee has yet to be agreed. Leipzig, having signed Simons permanently from PSG in January for €50 million, are likely to demand a significant profit.
Chelsea have been active in the market this summer, adding attacking talents like Liam Delap, Jamie Gittens, and João Pedro. If George were to move, it would be with the club’s blessing and possibly as part of a broader deal that suits both sides.
