Paris Saint-Germain have moved closer to reinforcing their goalkeeping department after reaching a personal agreement with Lille’s highly rated shot-stopper Lucas Chevalier. The development comes amid growing uncertainty surrounding the future of current No.1 Gianluigi Donnarumma.
The UEFA Champions League winners’ interest in Chevalier is no secret. PSG have been interested in acquiring the goalkeeper’s services for several months. However, the Ligue 1 champions have now acted upon their interest.
The 23-year-old has reached an agreement on personal terms with the French capital club and will sign a 5-year contract with the club should a move materialize.

Chevalier made 34 appearances in the 2024/25 Ligue 1 season, keeping 11 clean sheets for his side. According to Fabrizio Romano, he shared on his X handle that PSG have agreed personal terms with the 23-year-old Frenchman with talks ongoing with Lille.
His tweet reads:
“Paris Saint-Germain have agreed personal terms with Lucas Chevalier.
“Talks ongoing with Lille as request starts from €40m, as L’Équipe reported.
“PSG start moving as they still can not agree new deal with Gigio Donnarumma”.
Chevalier’s potential move to Paris is closely linked to the future of Donnarumma, whose contract runs until June 2026, but unproductive renewal talks so far and a reluctance to repeat the Kylian Mbappe free transfer scenario have made PSG more receptive to offers this summer.
Paris Saint-Germain sporting advisor Luis Campos sees the French goalkeeper as an ideal replacement should the Italian move on. That said, Chevalier is happy at Lille and isn’t in a hurry to leave, with a contract extension also still on the table.
Softfootball understand that Aston Villa have also reached out to LOSC Lille about a potential move for Lucas Chevalierr. The Frenchman is considered a possible replacement for Emiliano Martínez who is exploring a move away from the club. Nonetheless, it seems as though Aston Villa will be missing out.
