Arsenal summer signing Christian Nørgaard has described his switch to Arsenal as an amazing career boost. Softfootball captured the former Brentford captain’s interview during the press conference ahead of Arsenal’s game against Newcastle on Saturday.
Speaking to the Arsenal media team, as published on the club’s website, the 31-year-old Dane player expressed his excitement at how quickly he’s settling in at the club.

While speaking to the Arsenal media team, he said:
“I’ve been able to be with the team from day one of preseason, and it’s benefited me a lot.”
“I’m much further down the line now in terms of the integration of play than I would have been if I joined now. So it’s been fantastic so far. It’s such a good group, such a good group of staff and the whole team around has made everything very easy.”
Nørgaard, who captained Brentford last season, admitted he’s aware of the challenge ahead but says he’s ready to fight for a place in the squad.
He said:
“I’m realistic, of course. I know this is a step up in terms of quality, size of the club. But I’m also here to contribute; otherwise, I wouldn’t have made the move.
“There are some of the best players in the world in my position here, so it will be competitive. There’s what you see on the pitch at the weekend, but there’s also everything that happens off it, and I hope I can help in both areas.”
The Denmark international revealed that a conversation with Mikel Arteta was key in making his decision.
He continued:
“I signed a new deal with Brentford and thought I’d stay. But when the interest came from Arsenal, and after my first talks with Mikel, it was very clear to me that I would do everything to be able to play here.”
In a bid for Arsenal to fix every lapse in the team, Norgaard was one of the London side’s early signings during the transfer window.
He then concluded:
“To get this adventure to be part of a team that has such big ambitions is, for me, an amazing step at this stage in my career.”
Meanwhile, Softfootball has reported that Arsenal’s topmost target, Viktor Gyokeres, has been confirmed a Gunner, with the striker having travelled to London for medical.
The deal is said to cost Arsenal €63.5m plus a potential €10m in bonus payments after Gyokeres’ agent gave up his 10 percent cut.
