Softfootball understands that Bryan Mbeumo is set to undergo his medicals this weekend before completing a move to Manchester United.
The Cameroon international has been waiting for an agreement between the Red Devils and Brentford for the past seven weeks as they negotiated his transfer this summer. The deal was finally struck at £71m. £65m guaranteed and £6m in add-ons.
Transfer expert David Ornstein via his X handle, confirmed that the 25-year-old has now gotten the greenlight from the Bees to have his medical this week and finalise his switch to Old Trafford.

Mbeumo had a standout 2024/25 season, scoring 20 goals with seven assists as Brentford finished 10th. His form attracted a lot of interest especially from Tottenham where his former manager Thomas Frank now calls the shot and Newcastle who were ready to give him bigger wages but he insisted that he wants only Manchester United.
Although, Ruben Amorim wanted him to start pre-season with the Red Devils, he had to wait until an agreement was reached for the player. The Portuguese have always been a huge admirer of the brilliant midfielder and now, they can finally work together.

The impending arrival of Mbeumo may see the definite departures of Marcus Rashford, Antony, Malacia, Alexander Garnacho and Jadon Sancho. They are regarded as surplus to requirements and the club would need to sell them this summer to raise funds for new signings.
So far this summer, Manchester United have signed Matheus Cuhna and Diego Leon from Wolves and Cerro Porteno respectively.
Softfootball had reported earlier how the signing of Mbeumo is a good one for Manchester United. The Cameroon international could be the spark the Red Devils need to revive itself back like the glory years.
Manchester United are scheduled for this first pre-season game against Leeds United on Saturday and Amorim has called up 29 players for that game excluding the injured Joshua Zirkzee and Andre Onana.
This is an exciting news. I can’t wait to see you(mbuemo) in Manchester Jessy.
