Manchester United’s highly-rated 15-year-old wonderkid JJ Gabriel has formally asked to leave the club by seeking the immediate cancellation of his registration.
According to reports from The Times and Sky Sports, Gabriel has submitted formal notice requesting that his registration with Manchester United be terminated, which would allow him to become a free agent.
The teenager, widely regarded as one of the most exciting young talents in England, has attracted significant attention from leading clubs across Europe. Gabriel joined Manchester United at the age of 11 and has rapidly risen through the academy ranks, recently making headlines after scoring a hat-trick in the UEFA Youth League.
Softfootball believes the situation represents a major concern for Manchester United, particularly with the club having been hopeful of fast-tracking Gabriel towards first-team involvement. He had reportedly been in contention for a historic senior appearance in the Carabao Cup.
However, United are not prepared to simply accept the request. The club remain hopeful of changing Gabriel’s stance and reaching an agreement with the player and his representatives to keep him at Old Trafford.
