Newcastle United have reached a verbal agreement with Manchester City for the transfer of Nico González.
The deal is worth £47 million plus £3 million in add-ons, with the total package potentially reaching £50 million. The player has now given the green light to the move following significant progress in negotiations overnight.
González is ready to join the Newcastle United project and is expected to play an important role in Matthias Jaissle’s plans.
The agreement represents a major step towards completing the midfielder’s move to St James’ Park, with the remaining formalities now expected to be addressed before the transfer can be officially completed.

Softfootball had earlier reported that Newcastle were making significant progress in negotiations with Manchester City and were close to reaching an agreement.
That agreement has now been reached, with González set to continue his career at Newcastle after a short spell at Manchester City.
