Softfootball can confirm that Manchester United and Brighton have finalized all documents for Carlos Baleba’s transfer, with the Cameroon international joining the Red Devils in a deal worth £65 million plus £5 million in add-ons.
The agreement also includes a sell-on clause, completing United’s lengthy pursuit of the 22-year-old midfielder.
Baleba becomes Manchester United’s third midfield reinforcement of the summer following the arrivals of Andrey Santos and Youri Tielemans, as the club continues to reshape its midfield.
United had pursued Baleba for more than a year after Brighton previously demanded a fee exceeding £100 million for the highly rated midfielder. The two clubs eventually reached an agreement at a significantly lower guaranteed fee, with the overall package potentially reaching £70 million.

United believe the midfielder can become an important part of their rebuilding project. His arrival adds physicality and defensive security to the centre of the pitch while giving the squad another dynamic option.
With the documents finalized, Baleba’s move to Old Trafford is now at the final stage, subject to the remaining formalities surrounding his arrival.
