Carlos Baleba is set to become a Manchester United player after the Red Devils reached a verbal agreement with Brighton for the Cameroon international.
Softfootball understands that Manchester United submitted an improved bid today after their previous £65 million package was rejected, with the latest proposal now accepted by Brighton.
Baleba has made it clear that Manchester United are the club he wanted, and the 22-year-old is now set to complete his move to Old Trafford subject to the remaining formalities.
The midfielder is expected to sign a five-year contract with an option for a further year.
Manchester United are delighted with the agreement after reviving negotiations with Brighton, having previously explored a potential move for Baleba.

The feeling 12 months ago was that Brighton wanted a fee comparable to what they received for Moisés Caicedo, despite no formal price ever being offered. United were prepared to pay around £75 million at the time.
Now, the Red Devils have managed to secure Baleba for around £70 million, approximately £5 million below the figure they were prepared to spend last year.
Baleba is now closing in on his dream move to Manchester United as the club continues to strengthen its midfield.
