Chelsea’s ownership structure could be heading for another major change, with Todd Boehly and Mark Walter reportedly considering selling their minority stakes to Clearlake Capital, softfootball reports.
Boehly and Walter each hold around 12.8% of Chelsea and are understood to be in discussions over a potential sale of their shares to Clearlake, the club’s majority owner.
Clearlake currently controls approximately 61.5% of the BlueCo consortium. If the proposed transactions are completed, the investment firm would significantly increase its control over the club.
The current ownership structure is understood to be:
- Clearlake Capital — 61.5%
- Todd Boehly / Eldridge Industries — 12.8%
- Mark Walter / Guggenheim Partners — 12.8%
- Hansjörg Wyss / Wyss Foundation — 12.8%

A reduction in the number of major shareholders could potentially simplify Chelsea’s ownership structure and give Clearlake greater control over the club’s long-term direction.
For Chelsea supporters, the possibility of Clearlake consolidating its position could be viewed positively if it leads to a clearer and more unified ownership structure.
Meanwhile, Chelsea continue to deal with transfer-market developments, with Al Hilal showing strong interest in winger Pedro Neto.
As of Monday morning, Chelsea had not received an official bid for the 26-year-old Portugal international, despite the Saudi Pro League club stepping up its pursuit.
