Chelsea are moving towards loaning Mykhailo Mudryk to Strasbourg as they carefully plan the next stage of the Ukrainian winger’s career following his return to football.

The 25-year-old recently became eligible to play again after successfully resolving the doping case that had initially resulted in a four-year suspension. Chelsea are now focused on evaluating his physical condition before making any long-term decision on his future.

A loan move to Ligue 1 side Strasbourg, part of BlueCo’s multi-club network, has emerged as a serious option. Softfootball understands The arrangement would allow Mudryk to regain match fitness and competitive rhythm in a familiar footballing environment while remaining under the club’s close supervision.

Chelsea are understood to want guarantees over Mudryk’s playing time before approving any temporary move, ensuring the winger receives regular first-team football as he works towards rediscovering his best form.

Mudryk has not featured in a competitive match since November 2024, when he was provisionally suspended after returning an adverse test for meldonium. With that case now resolved in his favour, Chelsea believe a carefully managed loan spell could provide the ideal platform for his return to top-level football.
