Super Eagles duo Ola Aina and Taiwo Awoniyi received contrasting ratings following Nottingham Forest’s FA Cup victory over Ipswich Town on Monday night.

Forest advanced to the quarter-finals after defeating Ipswich 5-4 on penalties following a 1-1 draw after extra time. Aina completed 90 minutes before being substituted, while Awoniyi started in attack and was replaced by Chris Wood late in the second half.

According to the Nottingham Post, Aina earned a solid 6.5/10 rating for his performance, with Softfootball noting the defender impressed after a difficult run of league matches. The report stated:

A bit better from the full-back after a dip in form in the Premier League. Looked steadier defensively than he has in recent games and tried to push forward, especially in the second half.

Awoniyi, meanwhile, received a 5.5/10 after enduring a frustrating evening in front of goal. The publication wrote:

Didn’t get much service in the first half as Forest lacked creativity. His touch let him down when chances improved after the break. It was a difficult night for the striker.

Nottingham Forest will now face Brighton & Hove Albion in the FA Cup quarter-finals as they continue their pursuit of silverware.
