Como have reached a verbal agreement with Chelsea to sign Trevoh Chalobah, with the two clubs agreeing on a deal worth €30 million in guaranteed fees, plus a further €6 million in add-ons and a sell-on clause.
The English centre-back has made it clear that he wants the move to Serie A, with the opportunity to play UEFA Champions League football playing a major role in his decision.
The agreement represents significant progress after weeks of negotiations between the two clubs.
Earlier in July, Softfootball reported that Chalobah was closing in on a move to Como, with Chelsea expected to respond to the Italian club’s latest proposal.
At the time, Como had submitted an offer worth €25 million as a fixed fee, along with €5 million in easily achievable bonuses, as talks entered their final stages.
The improved agreement has now paved the way for Chalobah’s departure from Stamford Bridge, with only the remaining formalities left before the transfer is completed.
