Liverpool manager Arne Slot could face a two-match touchline ban following his dismissal at the end of the dramatic Merseyside derby draw against Everton.
Slot was sent off after the final whistle following his reaction to referee Michael Oliver’s decision to allow James Tarkowski’s late equaliser to stand.
The Liverpool manager and his assistant, Sipke Hulshoff, reportedly approached the referee after the match to express their frustration over the goal.
The Premier League initially stated that Slot had been dismissed for using offensive, insulting or abusive language, but the statement was later removed from its official website, creating uncertainty over the exact punishment.
The Football Association is expected to review the referee’s report before deciding on any disciplinary action.
Liverpool midfielder Curtis Jones was also sent off after becoming involved in a confrontation with Everton midfielder Abdoulaye Doucoure following the final whistle.
If Slot receives a two-match suspension, he could miss Liverpool’s upcoming fixtures against Wolves and Aston Villa.
