Former Chelsea midfielder John Mikel Obi has stated that Victor Osimhen could still make a move to Stamford Bridge despite the failed transfer last summer.
The Nigerian legend remains hopeful that his compatriot will eventually fulfill his dream of playing for the Blues, citing the striker’s long-standing admiration for the club. Softfootball reports that Osimhen is currently on loan at Galatasaray.
Mikel highlighted that Osimhen has always been open about his desire to join Chelsea, inspired by his idol Didier Drogba.

Although the deal did not materialize during the previous window, Mikel insists that the opportunity remains viable and that the door is not completely shut for a future reunion between the player and the London club.
He explained his optimism by stating:
Chelsea has always been his club. He has come out open to say it’s his childhood club, growing up, he’s always wanted to play for the club. His idol is Didier Drogba. He loves the way he played. Unfortunately, we didn’t get it done last summer, but listen, you never know, I don’t think the door is shut completely.
