Nottingham Forest took an early lead through Callum Hudson-Odoi’s long-range strike, but Newcastle responded with a flurry of goals from Lewis Miley, Jacob Murphy, and a brace from Alexander Isak.

Despite falling behind, Forest dominated the second half and mounted a late comeback with goals from Nikola Milenkovic and Ryan Yates in stoppage time.

The result leaves Nuno Espirito Santo’s side in third place, though they have now lost three of their last four league games. This setback sees them lose ground in the race for Champions League football, while Newcastle moved level on points with fourth-placed Manchester City.

Aina’s defensive efforts were tested throughout the high-scoring encounter as both teams traded blows in a match that highlighted the competitive nature of the top flight.
