Erling Haaland has equaled a historic Premier League achievement held by Manchester United legend Ruud van Nistelrooy. The Norwegian striker scored the decisive goal in Manchester City’s 1-0 win at Tottenham Hotspur, marking his return to the starting lineup after injury.

Haaland found the net in the 12th minute, taking his top-flight tally to 20 goals in just 26 appearances this season.

Softfootball noted that this feat makes him only the second player in history to score 20 or more goals in each of his first three Premier League campaigns. Van Nistelrooy previously accomplished this between 2001 and 2004.

The victory propelled City up to fourth place in the league table with 47 points. For Haaland, the goal was a timely reminder of his lethal efficiency, ensuring he remains on pace with one of the competition’s most prolific strikers.

While the match itself was tightly contested, Haaland’s clinical finish proved enough to secure all three points for Pep Guardiola’s side.
