Nottingham Forest’s impressive unbeaten run came to a disappointing end after Bournemouth secured a commanding 5-0 victory at the Vitality Stadium in Saturday’s Premier League clash.
Nigerian duo Ola Aina and Taiwo Awoniyi both featured for Forest, with Aina starting the game before making way in the 79th minute.
Awoniyi was introduced at the same stage, but neither could prevent Bournemouth from producing one of their best performances of the season.
Softfootball understands Forest arrived at the fixture unbeaten in eight league matches, but the Cherries completely outplayed their visitors from start to finish.
Dango Ouattara was the standout performer with a brilliant hat-trick, while Justin Kluivert and Antoine Semenyo also got on the scoresheet to seal Bournemouth’s biggest win of the campaign.
Despite the heavy defeat, Nottingham Forest remain third in the Premier League standings with 44 points. Bournemouth, meanwhile, extended their club-record unbeaten run in the competition to 11 matches, strengthening their push for European qualification.
