Anthony Nwakaeme continued his impressive return to form after scoring in Trabzonspor’s 3 – 0 victory over Alanyaspor in the Turkish Cup.
The Nigerian forward found the back of the net in the 67th minute to complete the scoring for Trabzonspor, who started their Group A campaign with a comfortable home win.
Black Sea Storm quickly asserted dominance in the second half. Edin Visca opened the scoring four minutes after the break before Simon Banza doubled the advantage in the 56th minute.
Softfootball understands that the victory moved Trabzonspor to the top of the six-team group, with Fatih Karagumruk currently sitting second after defeating Rizespor 1-0 in their opening fixture.
Nwakaeme’s goal was his second across all competitions this season as the experienced forward continues to play an important role for the Turkish club.
The former Super Eagles star will hope to maintain his form as Trabzonspor aim to make a strong run in the Turkish Cup.
