Real Madrid manager Carlo Ancelotti has warned that facing Barcelona in Sunday’s Supercopa final will present a serious test for his side, despite their comfortable semi-final win.
Real Madrid eased past Real Mallorca 3-0 on Thursday to book their place in the final, setting up another Clasico showdown with their fiercest rivals.
Softfootball reports that Ancelotti reflected on the unpredictability of matches between the two sides while speaking after the semi-final win.
He said:
In recent times the Clasico has always been unpredictable. There have been games that we’ve won easily and others where they’ve beaten us 0-4.
It’s difficult to think about what the final will be like, but it’s going to be entertaining because there’ll be a lot of talent on the pitch.”
Ancelotti also touched on his side’s current form, insisting consistency remains the priority moving forward. He added:
We’re pretty close to our optimum level. We continue to get results and we have to carry on in this vein. More than looking for the best level, we have tolook for consistency in terms of play and results.
