Super Eagles duo Alex Iwobi and Calvin Bassey played key roles as Fulham came from behind to secure a dramatic 2-1 victory over Chelsea in Thursday’s Premier League Boxing Day clash at Stamford Bridge.
The victory ended Fulham’s 45-year wait for a league win at Chelsea’s home ground, with Marco Silva’s side producing a spirited second-half comeback. Chelsea took the lead through Cole Palmer, who produced a brilliant solo effort in the first half, weaving past several defenders before calmly finishing into the bottom corner.
Fulham continued to press after the break and eventually found a deserved equaliser when substitute Harry Wilson diverted the ball into the net.
With the match seemingly heading for a draw, another substitute, Rodrigo Muniz, struck deep into stoppage time to complete the turnaround and hand Fulham their first league victory at Stamford Bridge since 1979.
